Our achievements

We’re really proud of the care we provide our patients. Here is just a few achievements that set us apart.
  • Staff at Evelina London carried out the world’s first MRI-guided children’s heart valve procedure
  • Our surgeons pioneered surgery for hypoplastic left heart syndrome, transforming the lives of many young patients
  • Our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) treats some of the most seriously ill children who come to us from across south east England.
  • Our neonatal unit cares for around 800 babies a year, and has some of the best survival rates in the UK
  • With colleagues at King’s College Hospital, we have established the UK’s only multi-disciplinary MSc course in child health
  • We are home to the Centre for the Developing Brain, which does pioneering research to understand brain development in newborn babies
  • We are a leading centre for research into allergies and hope to find a cure for peanut allergy in children
  • Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity is funding an exciting project to help us deliver seamless care between the hospital, GPs and the community
  • We support children and young people to take part in clinical trials to help develop new treatments – we have some of the highest numbers of participants in the UK
  • Support from families and staff has helped us raise millions of pounds for state-of-the-art equipment which benefits our patients
