We know that we would not be where we are today without our amazing staff. That's why, in our 150th birthday year, we are celebrating teams and individuals with a special award. Every month, we select worthy winners to be our Evelina 150 Stars.
Thank you to everyone who nominated our staff in April. We picked four winners.
Find out why our panel selected them below, and well done to everyone who was nominated.
Linda Darko, security officer
For her remarkable caring nature and kindness, and being hugely reassuring to patients and families as the face of Evelina London security.
‘Nothing is ever too much trouble for her. We should all try to be a little more like Linda.’
Ellen Samuel, matron
For her "can do" attitude, always being willing to help, having time to listen and offering her wisdom and expertise with patience and understanding.
For being passionate about ensuring children under the care of her teams receive the highest standard of care.
"We would like Ellen to receive this award in recognition of how outstanding she is and the incredible contribution she makes to Evelina London."
Joanna Bridgeman and Alison Smith, ward managers, Snow Fox
For being supportive, compassionate and caring and for promoting confidence within her staff.
For being approachable, understanding, non-judgmental and supportive.
Joanna and Alison received many joint nominations, and one person summarised: "I could not wish for better leaders, managers and friends to work with. Their clinical knowledge, competence, kindness and compassion for their roles and staff shines through every day. A true representation of how you should successfully run a team and treat staff.”
