We know that we would not be where we are today without our amazing staff. That's why, in our 150th birthday year, we are celebrating teams and individuals with a special award. Every month, we select worthy winners to be our Evelina 150 Stars.
Thank you to everyone who nominated our staff in January. It was extremely difficult to choose just two winners, but after lots of difficult deliberation our panel have selected Dana and our phlebotomy (blood test) team.
Find out why our panel selected them below, and well done to everyone who was nominated.
Dana Aryan-Warren, palliative care pathway coordinator
Dana with Sir Hugh Taylor, Chairman and Amanda Pritchard, Chief Executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
For working over and above what would be expected from an individual in this role to ensure that the needs of the service and hence the wellbeing of our children are maintained at all times.
The team said: "Dana is a vital member of our team and we could not maintain the service we do without her. Thank you Dana."
Our phlebotomy (blood test) team
Phlebotomy team members with Sir Hugh Taylor, Chairman and Amanda Pritchard, Chief Executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
For being patient, kind, caring and doing all they can to reassure their young patients.
For being able to deal with whatever comes their way, always with a smile and a kind word.
One nominee said: “There is no service like this locally and [the team are] truly wonderful.”
