Biography
Professor Gurleen Sharland was appointed as consultant in fetal cardiology in 1993 and since then has led and developed a leading service in fetal cardiology, involving diagnosis and management of prenatal congenital heart disease and fetal arrhythmias.
She organises and teaches on basic and advanced courses, including hands on workshops in UK and abroad. She is also an invited member of faculty of many courses, workshops, symposia at national and international conferences and is frequently asked to give lectures.
Gurleen has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and many book chapters and co-edited a fetal cardiology textbook and a colour atlas. She is the sole author of a textbook on fetal cardiology, published in 2013.

Gurleen's research to date has been clinical, covering diagnosis, natural history, progression, associations, management and outcome of fetal congenital heart disease.
