Strike action is taking place in June. We'll contact you directly if you or your child's appointment is affected.

There are rail strikes planned for May and June, which may affect your journey to our hospital and community centres. If you or your child has an appointment booked, please do all you can to attend. Plan your journey ahead and allow extra time.

Preparing for a procedure or surgery

Find out about changes we are making during the COVID-19 pandemic

We are running our theatres for routine, urgent and emergency operations and procedures, based on our waiting lists and emergencies that present to our emergency department.

Travel for procedures and surgery at Evelina London is deemed essential travel.

Please be aware that there are currently special arrangements for surgery to ensure everyone’s safety.

At present, there are steps you need to follow carefully, or unfortunately your child’s surgery may be cancelled. These may include a undertaking of a covid swab prior to admission or a potential need to self-isolate or socially distance for a set time before your arrival. You will be informed of these steps on receiving the date of your child’s admission over the phone.

If you have any questions, please speak to your surgical team.

Keeping you safe

If you have any concerns about COVID-19, please speak to your clinical team who will be able to support you.

Please do not cancel your child’s surgery, we are taking lots of extra steps to keep you and your child safe during their time in hospital.
