If your child has been invited for a face-to-face appointment or procedure, it’s important you still come (even if local COVID-19 restrictions have changed).
To help keep everyone safe, only one parent or carer can attend. No other family or friends can visit.

Preparing for a procedure or surgery

Preparing for surgery

We are now reopening our theatres for routine elective surgery following a brief period of reduced operating. We are continuing to offer urgent and emergency operations and procedures, and we have begun booking patient’s from our previous waiting lists.

Please be aware that there are currently special arrangements for surgery to ensure everyone’s safety.

Find out how to prepare for surgery at this time by reducing your child’s risks (PDF 404Kb). At present, there are three steps you need to follow, or unfortunately your surgery may be cancelled.

These are:

  1. Social distancing (PDF 524Kb)
  2. Self-isolating  (PDF 430Kb)
  3. Pre-admission swab for coronavirus

If you have any questions, please speak to your surgical team.
