Biography
Lance Tooke was appointed a consultant anaesthetist at Guy's and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 2001.
He qualified from the University of Cape Town in 1988 and trained in children's (paediatric) anaesthesia at the Red Cross Hospital in Cape Town.
Lance is the clinical director of Evelina London surgical services and paediatric intensive care (PICU).

Dr Tooke is interested in improving the patient pathway in theatres and in improving the way the operating theatres work.
He leads a team of paediatric anaesthetists and aims to improve the way we work to create a safe environment for our patients.
