How to get an appointment

You must have a written referral from your child's hospital doctor, GP or NHS therapist.

Before your appointment

Please bring any orthotic devices your child has previously been provided with.

During your appointment

Your child's appointment will be with one of our state registered orthotists.

The orthotists are qualified professionals responsible for the assessment, prescription, design, manufacture and fitting of orthoses.

You may also see other medical staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehabilitation engineers, prosthetists and podiatrists.

Appointments are for 30 minutes and may be longer for complex assessments.

We support student training and will always ask your permission for students to be present at your child's appointment.

After your appointment

The orthotist will give you and your child guidance about the orthosis and how to look after it.

Reviews of the orthosis will be arranged as and when they are needed.

Your orthotist may liaise with whoever referred your child, to let them know how they are progressing.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call 020 3049 7776.
