A new edition of the GiST, the award-winning magazine from Guy’s and St Thomas', is out now.

In this issue, we are celebrating the inspiring career of our Chief Executive, Professor Ian Abbs, who will be standing down from his role later this year. He is featured on the cover alongside several staff members including a hospital porter, a nurse, a play specialist, an anaesthetist and a physiotherapist. This is just a small snapshot of the many professions who make up our Guy’s and St Thomas’ family, and whose expertise and dedication allow us to keep delivering excellent care to our patients.

In this issue, you can learn about several clinical trials that are transforming patient care across the Trust. This includes stories about an AI-assisted tool which is helping to speed up pregnancy scans, and a new study that is allowing adults with severe peanut allergies to tolerate small amounts of peanut without the risk of a life-threatening reaction.

You can also find out more about our diverse prosthetics programme being run Guy’s Cancer Centre, and how this is helping our cancer patients to feel their best when recovering from surgery.
