Finding the entrance:

Evelina London is next to St Thomas' Hospital. You can reach the entrance by:

 

  • walking through St Thomas' and following the signs
  • directly via Lambeth Palace Road

 

 

 

Visiting our hospital over Christmas?

 

From Saturday 23 December until Monday 1 January, there will be disruption to rail services across London and the south east as part of the Thameslink Programme (PDF 378Kb). Southeastern, Thameslink, Gatwick Express and Southern services will all be affected as well as other train operators, with no National Rail services running on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

Tube

The nearest tube stations are:

  • Westminster - District, Circle and Jubilee lines (10 minutes' walk).
  • Waterloo - Bakerloo, Jubilee and Northern lines (15 minutes' walk). There is step-free access to the Jubilee Line.
    Please note that the step-free York Road exit/entrance at Waterloo will be closed until 2018. There is step-free access at exit/entrance 2 onto Waterloo Road. See access information about travelling from Waterloo Station to Evelina London.
  • Lambeth North - Bakerloo line (10 minutes' walk).

TfL provides guides, maps and information on step free access, toilet locations and travel support cards on their website. You can also apply for a ‘Please offer me a seat’ badge or card here too.

Train

Waterloo, Waterloo East, are the nearest railway stations, and are a 10-15 minutes' walk away.

Step free access from Waterloo Station is via exit 3, near the clock. When leaving the station from exit 3, turn left and following the path to York Road for St Thomas' Hospital through to Evelina London.

The Shell building development on York Road means visitors to Evelina London are being directed to the end of York Road. For Evelina London, cross the pedestrian crossing at the end of York Road and turn left, continue onto Lambeth Palace Road and walk for about 5 minutes, Evelina London is on the right hand side.

Victoria and Charing Cross are 20–30 minutes' walk away.

Bus

Allow 15-20 minutes to get from the bus stop to where you need to be in the hospital. The following bus routes serve St Thomas' Hospital/Evelina London

  • 12, 53, 148, 159, 211, 453, C10 - stop at Westminster Bridge Road 
  • 77, 507, N44 - stop at Lambeth Palace Road
  • 3, 344, C10, N3 - stop at Lambeth Road (15 minutes walk)
  • 76, 341, 381, RV1 - stop at York Road
  • N44, N155, N159, N381 - night buses stop at Westminster Bridge Road
  • N3 night bus - stops at Lambeth Road

Bicycle

There are bike racks:

  • in the parking area by Evelina London
  • at the front of the main reception of St Thomas' Hospital, alongside Gassiot House
  • in the St Thomas' car park (lower ground floor) next to the Florence Nightingale Museum.

There is a cycle hire docking station opposite St Thomas' emergency department (A&E) by Archbishop's Park. To see where the docking station is use the interactive map and search for Archbishop's Park. It will tell you the number of bicycles available and the number of free spaces where you can park your bike.

Car – limited parking available

Parking for patients and visitors is very limited, and there is often a queue. The car park is 'pay on foot' so please have the correct change. You can also pay by credit or debit card. Pay and get your exit ticket before returning to your car.

Parking charges:

  • £3.20 per hour
  • disabled patients are given free parking in the main car park upon production of their blue badge registered in their name along with an appointment card
  • parking charges apply 24 hours a day.

Please use public transport whenever possible.

Evelina London and St Thomas' Hospital are located in the congestion charging zone.
