Mr Atherton qualified as a doctor with a double distinction from St George’s Medical School London in 2000.
He undertook his basic surgical training in Cambridge and was awarded an MD for his thesis on nerve injury from Imperial College, London in 2006.
Duncan continued his plastic surgery training in a number of London teaching hospitals, including: Great Ormond Street, Charing Cross, Chelsea and Westminster and the Royal Free. He was awarded the FRCS (Plast) in 2011.
In addition he has undertaken sub-speciality fellowships in craniofacial surgery, aesthetic surgery and the nationally appointed interface cleft fellowship with the South Thames Cleft service.
