I am a paediatric infectious diseases consultant and epidemiologist interested in the appropriate use of antibiotics.
I qualified from the American University of Beirut and trained at Boston Children's Hospital in general paediatrics and paediatric infectious diseases. I hold a Masters in clinical investigation from Harvard Medical School and served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service officer with the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
I lead the paediatric antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control programmes at Evelina London. In parallel, I am joint lead for the primary care and interventions unit of Public Health England’s healthcare-associated infection & antimicrobial resistance division.
