Biography
Maria Vanegas trained as a paediatrician and child neurologist at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Spain, where she also completed her PhD with a focus on rare neurological disorders.
She has been a consultant in paediatric neurology, with a specialist interest in neuromuscular disorders and gene therapy, at Evelina London since 2022.
She is also the neuromuscular team lead and neuroscience governance lead.
