The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has announced that industrial action will take place at NHS trusts across the country on 15 and 20 December 2022.

The strike action will impact all hospital and community sites at Guy’s and St Thomas’, including those providing Evelina London's services.

We are working with the RCN to make sure we can continue to provide key emergency and urgent services on the strike days.

However, to help us safely manage the impact of the strikes, some routine and non-urgent appointments and procedures will need to be postponed on 15 and 20 December.

We'll contact you directly if you or your child's care is affected to rearrange your appointment as quickly as possible.

Ambulance workers are planning strike action on 21 December. If you need medical help or advice go to 111 online, unless it is a life threatening emergency when you should call 999. Ambulances will still be able to respond in these situations, but this may only be where there is an immediate risk to life.

The following emergency and urgent services will remain open during the strike action and people should continue to use them if they have an urgent health need:

We would also like to reassure parents/carers of children who are currently in our hospital as inpatients, that we have put plans in place so we can continue to provide safe care to our patients.

Please continue to check back for further updates on how the strikes will affect our services.

Please also be aware that there are a number of rail strikes during December, which may affect your ability to travel to our sites.
