Signing in to MyChart with your NHS login

Last updated: Tuesday, 16 June 2026

Parents, carers and young people over 16 can sign in to MyChart using the same log in details they use for the NHS App. This means they do not need to remember another username and password, and getting started with MyChart is quicker.

Patients under 18 years old

If you're under 16, you will continue to log in using your MyChart details. You can request a MyChart account with your healthcare team if you're aged 13 or older.

If you're over 16, you can use your NHS App details to log in and sign up to MyChart. You'll need to speak to your healthcare team about managing other people's access.

Parents and carers of under 18s

If you're a parent or carer of a patient who is under 18, you can find out more information about using your NHS login with MyChart.

What this means for you

If you already use the NHS App, you can now use those details to access MyChart.

  • Look for the option to log in using NHS details on the MyChart sign-in page
  • You will not need to create a separate account
  • You can access your health information as usual

If you're new to MyChart, you can create an account more quickly using your NHS login, without filling in extra forms.

Your information stays safe

Using your NHS App login does not change how your information is protected. MyChart continues to meet the same safety and privacy standards.

If you do not use the NHS App

Other ways to log in are still available.

If you prefer not to use the NHS App, you can still sign in or create a MyChart account in the usual ways, including following the steps from the log in screen or asking at your appointment.
