Your Family Nurse Partnership appointment

Getting support

If you are 19 or under, pregnant with your first baby and living in Lambeth or Southwark, our family nurses can help you.

You can contact us directly or ask your GP, midwife, school nurse or other worker (such as a personal adviser or social worker) to contact us for you.

Cancelling or changing your appointment

If you need to cancel or change your appointment, either text your family nurse directly or ring one of our administrators:

  • Renee Lam, tel: 020 3049 8126
  • Chantelle Walker, tel: 020 3049 4077

What to expect at your appointment

You will see your own family nurse at each appointment – either at home or you can agree another venue that suits you.

During your appointment, the family nurse will explain what the Family Nurse Partnership programme is, its benefits and what we expect from you.

If you are in a relationship, your partner is welcome to come along to your appointment.

Each appointment will last about one hour.

After your appointment

The nurse will make appointments with you for follow up visits. These will be weekly initially, then each two weeks until your baby is born. After your baby is born, appointments will become weekly again for six weeks, then every two weeks.

The family nurse will also give you some resources for you to look at after your appointment. These are full of useful information and tips to support you, such as information explaining the changes that will happen to you in pregnancy.
