Biography
Ben Fitzwilliams trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals, qualifying MBBS (Hons) in 1996 with distinction in surgery and obstetrics and gynaecology. He was awarded the FRCA in 2000.
He has undertaken specialist training in children's and obstetric anaesthesia at St George’s Hospital, London, the Royal Perth Hospital, Australia and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.
Ben was appointed as consultant anaesthetist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and Evelina London in 2005 and is currently lead obstetric anaesthetist.
- Anaesthesia for children, including extremely premature neonates.
- High risk obstetric anaesthesia.
- Anaesthesia for plastic, orthopaedic and ENT surgery.
- Treatment of intracranial hypotension (in conjunction with neurologists).
