Strike action is taking place in June. We'll contact you directly if you or your child's appointment is affected.

There are rail strikes planned for May and June, which may affect your journey to our hospital and community centres. If you or your child has an appointment booked, please do all you can to attend. Plan your journey ahead and allow extra time.

Infectious diseases and immunology referrals

Who can refer

Children are normally referred to the children’s infectious diseases and immunology service by their GP. Some children are referred to us from other hospitals or from other services at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

How to refer

All NHS GP referrals must be submitted using the NHS e-Referral service (formerly Choose and Book).

Referrals sent to the nhs.net mailbox or by post from GPs will not be processed.

Other health professionals should send a referral letter by post or email using the details in the referral contacts box on this page.

Emergency referrals

Emergency referrals regarding children’s infections or concerns about their immune system should be made through the 24 hour general paediatrics service – call 020 7188 7188 and ask for the general paediatric registrar, bleep 0339 .
