TANDeM team

This page lists the members of staff who work in the tics and neurodevelopmental movements (TANDeM) team. You might meet some of these staff when you come for your appointment.

Dr Tammy Hedderly – consultant children's neurologist and team lead

Dr Osman Malik – paediatric child and adolescent psychiatrist

Claire Grose and Alice Bailey – clinical nurse specialists
Our clinical nurse specialists support families by providing medication reviews and individual and group therapies to children with neurodevelopmental disorders.They are also involved in training and clinical and academic research.

Dr Sara Sopena and Dr Tamsin Owen – clinical psychologists
Our clinical psychologists provide neuropsychological assessment, group and individual psychological therapies to children with neurodevelopmental movement disorders. They also provide placements for psychology students and trainee clinical psychologists and conduct clinical and academic research relating to children with neurodevelopmental movement disorders. Supervision and consultation on the assessment and management of neurodevelopmental movements is also provided.

Assistant psychologist
TANDeM has a part-time assistant psychologist who assists with clinical assessments and one-to-one/group treatments in the clinic. They also assist with clinical audit, service evaluation and several research studies in the clinic including "IIM" (looking at the genetic risk factors and clinical presentation for a clinical subtype of motor stereotypies called Intense Imagery Movements) and "TicGen” (investigating the genetic susceptibility factors of paediatric and adolescent tic disorders).
