Why do research here?

Evelina London Children’s Hospital is a research active specialist paediatric heath service with a strong track record of conducting clinical research.

We are the UK’s leading hospital for paediatric cardiology as well as specialists in kidney transplants and dialysis, cleft lip surgery, metabolic conditions, allergy and neurology. 

Evelina London Children’s Hospital is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust – one of the most consistently high recruiting sites in England for NIHR portfolio studies. Our research portfolio ranges from babies in the womb, through to young adulthood and transition to adult services.

Our researchers

Our clinicians are chief investigators (CI), principal investigators (PI) and sub-investigators (SI) for a diverse portfolio of commercial and non-commercial studies. We support both National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) portfolios and non-portfolio studies. Many of our investigators are holders of major national and European grants.
