Evelina London Children's Hospital

As you may be aware, the Met Office issued an extreme weather warning for heat on Monday (18 July) and Tuesday (19 July), with temperatures potentially reaching up to 40 degrees in London.

During this time, there may be significant disruption to national rail and London Underground services as well as some roads.

All appointments and admissions at our hospitals and community sites will go ahead as planned unless you are notified otherwise. Please allow extra time for your journey so you can travel safely to our sites in hot weather. Make sure you carry water with you while travelling, as it’s important to stay hydrated.

Our Emergency Department remains open 24/7. Our team is always here to help you. It is important to attend an emergency department if you or your child is in need of urgent medical care, if you are advised to by NHS 111 or another healthcare professional. We advise that you access the closest emergency department service to where you are located due to travel disruptions caused by the hot weather.

Visit Transport for London, and National Rail websites for the latest information on public transport services.

Make sure you know how to keep yourself and your family safe in hot weather.
