Biography
Bernd Thiessen is a consultant anaesthetist at Evelina London and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
After specialising in general surgery at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, Bernd took up an internship in internal medicine at the State University of New York, then a residency in anaesthesiology at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Centre, New York.
He completed fellowships at the Children's Hospital of New York and the Children's Hospital of Cologne between 2002 and 2004.
Bernd was appointed to the American Board of Anaesthesiology in 2002 and the German Board of Anaesthesiology (Facharzt) in 2004.
He was appointed a consultant in 2004.
