Consultant in paediatric gastroenterology

Area of expertise: gastro oesophageal reflux, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), coeliac disease, constipation, polyps and endoscopy in children

Biography

Dr Babu Vadamalayan is the lead gastroenterology consultant for Evelina London Children’s Hospital and King’s College Hospital. He was trained and worked in a number of international excellence centres in the UK, Australia and Japan.

Babu treats children (under the age of 16 years) with chronic diarrhoea, rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, constipation, ongoing weight loss, food allergy and gastro oesophageal reflux. 

He has special interests in therapeutic children's gastrointestinal investigations including endoscopy (gastroscopy, balloon enteroscopy, capsule enteroscopy and colonoscopy), impedance pH studies, Bravo capsule (to diagnose reflux), food allergy tests and pancreatic function tests.
