Strike action by junior doctors will take place at our hospital and community sites from 7am on Tuesday 11 April to 7am on Saturday 15 April. We'll contact you if you or your child’s appointment is affected. We apologise for any inconvenience.

A number of transport strikes are due to take place this March. If you or your child has an appointment at one of our hospitals or community centres, please plan ahead and do all you can to attend. If you need to cancel your appointment, please contact your clinical team.

Diabetes service

Our diabetes service cares for children and young people with diabetes. We also offer an active insulin pump service for patients.

As well as care, we provide diabetes education and fun activities, working closely with schools, families and other carers.

We work closely with colleagues in the community, and in other hospital services. We support children in the intensive care unit and children with diabetes and kidney disease.

We run a specialist transition service for young people moving from the children’s service to the adult diabetes service.

Diabetes on-call telephone service

For out-of-hours urgent advice, call our main switchboard on 020 7188 7188, press '0' and ask to speak to the children’s diabetes on-call clinician.

The on-call service is available Monday-Thursday, 5pm-9am and Friday 5pm until Monday 9am (all weekend). It's available every day, including bank holidays.
