Children's Day Surgery Unit

Reception

On the left of the reception is a reception desk. To the right of the reception desk is a corridor with doors on both sides, leading to a door facing the front. To the right of the hallway is a waiting area with colourful benches and large windows with artwork on them. To the right of the waiting area is the door to exit the building.

Assessment room

On the left is a sink, two cushioned chairs and a baby changing table. To the right is a desk with a desktop computer on it and a stool beside it. To the right of the desk is the door to enter and exit the room.

Reception 2

On the left is a corridor that leads to the first reception area. To the right is a door to a toilet and to the right of that are two sets of double doors

Admissions and play area

On the left is a colourful corridor with artwork and a reception desk. To the right of the corridor is a play room with toys, a sensory machine and a bench. To the right of the play room is a corridor with double doors along each side and double doors at the end.

Admissions cubical

On the left is a sink and a small desk with a desktop computer on it and a stool to the side of it. To the right of this is a hospital bed and to the right of the bed are double doors to enter and exit the room

Admissions and staff base

On the left are double doors and a large desk with a desktop computer on it and an office chair beside it. Behind the desk is an area with two more office chairs next to small desks with computers. To the right is a large space with corridors leading off it, and open double doors which show the admissions cubicle

Anaesthetic room

On the left is a portable screen on wheels. To the right is double doors and a hospital bed. To the right of the hospital bed is a long desk with a desktop computer. To the right of the desk is a floor to ceiling cabinet of medical supplies with transparent doors.

Theatre

On the left is an adjustable screen attached to the ceiling. To the right are shelves of medical supplies and double doors. To the right of the doors is a cabinet of medical supplies and a screen attached to the wall. In the middle of the room is a hospital bed underneath adjustable ceiling lights. To the right of the bed is a clock on the wall and a moveable desk with a desktop computer on it

Recovery

On the left is a large window and two hospital beds. Each bed has two screens next to it. To the right of the beds is a desk with two computers on it. To the right of the desk are double doors to enter and exit the room and a sink. To the right of that are 2 hospital beds with screens next to them and a window.

Stage 2 recovery and discharge

On the left is a bed area that can be separated by a curtain, with a bed, chair, screen and shelves. In the centre of the room is a large desk area with two desks, each with a computer on them, and an area behind this with another desk and computer. On the right is a hospital bed with two chairs next to it.
