If your child has been invited for a face-to-face appointment or procedure, it’s important you still come unless you hear otherwise.
To help keep everyone safe, only one parent or carer can attend. No other family or friends can visit.

Urology referrals

Who can refer

We accept referrals from GPs, Evelina London Children's Hospital consultants and other hospital consultants.

How to refer

All NHS GP referrals must be submitted using the NHS e-Referral service (formerly Choose and Book).

Referrals sent to the nhs.net mailbox or by post from GPs will not be processed.

All other referrers should send referrals to the email or postal address in the referral contacts box on this page.

Please provide the following information in your referral:

  • patient's name, date-of-birth, address, NHS number
  • contact number for patient's parents or carers (please include a mobile number if possible)
  • GP's name and address
  • referring clinician's name and contact details

Urgent/two week referrals

GPs should contact the children's assessment and referral service (CARS) for advice and support if the patient needs to be referred urgently.

This service is available 11am-7pm, Monday to Friday on 07557 159 092 or by email on general.paediatrics@nhs.net.

Emergency referrals

If your patient requires immediate assessment but does not need to go to A&E, please contact the on-call urology registrar or consultant. They are available at all times and can be contacted using bleep 1103.

To access the bleep system, call 020 7188 7188 and choose the option for the bleep desk. Once connected, dial bleep number 1103 and wait for a response.
