Complex feeding clinic referrals

Who can refer

We only accept referrals from paediatricians from south London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

We cannot accept urgent referrals. Any concerns arising while waiting for an appointment needs to be directed to the referrer and local services.

This is a specialist tertiary service so there must be evidence of local input before referral and while under our service. Children must have access to a paediatrician – general, community or specialist – and have had a recent dietetic assessment. Referrals without evidence of local support are likely to be rejected.

Who we see

We see children and young people aged between 3 and 16 years old.

We may consider assessing a younger child in specific circumstances. If the child is under 3 years old, please provide extra information to indicate their level of complexity.

Making a referral

All referrals must be completed by a paediatrician who will continue to provide ongoing health monitoring and safeguarding input.

All referrals must include:

  • a completed referral form, forms with missing information may be rejected
  • an assessment report by a local dietitian
  • evidence of local input to support feeding
