The Guy’s and St Thomas’ - Evelina London Congenital Heart Disease Network brings together NHS professionals working across London, Kent, Essex, Suffolk, Surrey, Sussex and further afield. The network makes sure that congenital heart disease patients, families and carers receive the specialist support that they need.
Our vision
- To provide equal access to high quality specialist care
- To deliver care locally and closer to your home
- To improve quality of care and experience for families
- To communicate effectively and share learning with our network colleagues
- To use NHS resources in the best way and provide cost-effective care
Joint cardiac network clinics
Joint cardiac network clinics provide care locally. They are run by a consultant with expertise in cardiology together with an Evelina London consultant cardiologist.
The network clinic is supported by a cardiac nurse specialist and in some cases an Evelina London cardiac physiologist. Depending on the centre, you might also see a nurse with an interest in cardiology from your local centre.
Network merger with the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals
Guy’s and St Thomas’ and Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals became a single Trust in February 2021, providing an exciting opportunity for our Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) networks to become a combined network by spring 2023.
The combined CHD Network will provide better access to care locally, an expanded geographical reach and more patient choice. It will also have more opportunities for research, education and sharing clinical expertise. The networks already have a long history of collaboration and look forward to working together for all patients, families and carers in the network.
