Acute speech and language therapy service referrals

Referral criteria: patients under Evelina London Children’s Hospital cardiology service with concerns around feeding or swallowing.

Referrals are accepted from Evelina London health professionals.

If you're a health professional or a parent or carer and feel that your patient or child may benefit from being referred to this clinic, please discuss with the child's cardiologist. A referral letter is required with relevant clinical information.

Referral criteria: patients under Evelina London Children’s Hospital ear, nose and throat service with concerns around swallowing related to a specific ear, nose and throat diagnosis.

Referrals are accepted from Evelina London ear, nose and throat consultants.

Referral criteria: patients under Evelina London Children’s Hospital neurology service with concerns around speech and language that are or may be related to a neurological condition. Second opinions are considered on an individual basis.

Referrals accepted from health professionals. Please complete our neuro communication clinic referral form (Word 87KB).

Referral criteria: referrals are made from the saliva control clinic at Evelina London Children's Hospital. A referral letter is required with relevant clinical information from the saliva control clinic.

Referral criteria: patients under an Evelina London Children's Hospital consultant who require a videofluoroscopic swallow study and have had a recent assessment of their swallowing and feeding by a speech and language therapist.

Referrals accepted from speech and language therapists with a medical doctor authorising. Please complete our videofluoroscopy referral form (Word 141KB) .

Referral criteria: patients with dysphonia who are under a GP from the South East Network (Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark, Greenwich, Bromley, Bexley) or patients with a complex airway history who are under an ear, nose and throat consultant at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Evelina London consultant referrals and second opinions are considered on an individual basis.

Referrals are accepted from speech and language therapists, ear, nose and throat surgeons, Evelina London consultants, GPs and paediatricians. A referral letter is required with relevant clinical information (including local speech and language therapy assessment findings and ear, nose and throat assessment findings where possible).
