We accept referrals from:

  • individual children and their families self referral
  • schools
  • health visitors
  • GPs
  • social services
  • emergency department (A&E) attendance (via a liaison health visitor)
  • children's wards
  • specialist nurses, for example diabetes, haemoglobinopathies.

More information about how to make a school nursing referral.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Contact the school nurse team on 020 3049 4777 or ask the school to let the nurse know.

Before your appointment

Your child won't have to prepare or bring anything to the appointment, unless asked.

What to expect at your appointment

During your child's appointment they will usually see the nurse, either in school, at home or at one of the clinics where our school nurses are based.

Sometimes there may also be student nurses present. They will be fully supervised at all times and won't affect the quality of your child's care, but we will always ask your permission for them to attend the appointment.
