Your child's appointment with the school nursing service

How do I get an appointment?

We accept referrals from:

  • individual children and their families self referral
  • schools
  • health visitors
  • GPs
  • social services
  • A&E attendance (via a liaison health visitor)
  • children's wards
  • specialist nurses, for example diabetes, haemoglobinopathies.

More information about how to make a referral.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Contact the school nurse team on the E-SNAP phone number 020 3049 4777 or ask the school to let the nurse know.

Before your appointment

You don't have to prepare or bring anything to your appointment, unless asked.

What to expect at your appointment

During your appointment you'll usually see the nurse, either in school, at your home or at one of the clinics where our school nurses are based.

Sometimes there may also be student nurses present. They will be fully supervised at all times and won't affect the quality of your care, but we will always ask your permission for them to attend your appointment.
