Your child's appointment with the school nursing service

How do I get an appointment?

We accept referrals from:

  • young people and their families by phone, ChatHealth, ParentLine or email
  • schools (using the electronic referral form)
  • health professionals
  • social services
  • emergency department (A&E) attendance
  • allied health professionals

More information about how to make a school nursing referral.

Cancelling or changing your appointment

Phone the school nursing team on 020 3049 4777 or ask the school to let the nurse know.

Before your appointment

Your child will not have to prepare or bring anything to the appointment, unless asked.

What to expect at your appointment

During your child's appointment they'll usually see the nurse, either in school, at home or at one of the clinics where our school nurses are based.

Sometimes there may also be student nurses present. They'll be fully supervised at all times and will not affect the quality of your child's care, but we'll always ask your permission for them to attend the appointment.
